We are the only SUP school on the Mornington Peninsula whose instructors are accredited with both the Academy of Surfing Instructors and Surfing Australia.

Which location will my lesson be held ?
To get the most fun out of your lesson, your SUP-FIT instructor will choose the best location to match the weather conditions of the day.

The day before your lesson you will receive an SMS listing your lesson location and directions.

We are uniquely spoilt for choice on the Mornington Peninsula with our preferred locations at both Port Phillip and Western Port Bay, all within about 25 minutes drive from each other.

What do I bring to my lesson ?
  • Something comfortable to paddle in and that you wouldn’t mind getting wet, bathers / shorts / t-shirt / leggings
  • Sunglasses and hat
  • Sunscreen (also provided)
  • Towel
  • Drinking Water
Do I need to be able to swim ?
No, but please let your SUP-FIT instructor know about your swimming ability prior to the lesson beginning and the format of the lesson can be adapted to maximise your enjoyment and safety.

Will I fall off when I'm learning?
This varies from person to person. Most of SUP-FIT’s clients do not fall off their boards on their first lesson. The SUPs are quite big and stable and water conditions are usually calm. Having said that, anyone can fall off and safe falling technique is explained at the start of each lesson. A paddler new to SUP always begins the lesson paddling kneeling down and progresses to standing when they feel ready.

Should I wear a PFD?

PFD’s (Personal Flotation Devices) are mandatory in Victorian waters only if you are more than 400 metres off-shore, however in our lesson we don’t venture out that far. You will be attached to your board via a surfer’s ankle leash. Please let your SUP-FIT instructor know if you think you would feel more comfortable wearing a PFD.
